february 2022

The month of February was highlighted by our second party of the year, Space Jam, was a huge hit on campus. We were able to raise a lot of money for our philanthropy. The focus though of the month is educating our new members in the house. Educating the next class is something we place in high regard and everyone in the house is part of that.

January 2022

January is one of the most important months for the zeta phi chapter at William Jewell. January is the month in which our house gets a lot of new faces. On Bid day we welcomed 19 potential new members to our house. All our hard work paid off and we got the largest class of any Greek organization at William Jewell. We will now spend the next few months working hard to develop them into phi gam men.

December 2021

Brothers spend most of the time during the month of December focused on school. With the conclusion of the semester it was a necessity to help keep our highly regarded GPA’s intact. As for other important info, rush was on our mind most of the time. We made sure to have an attack plan before we left to get the best potential members class we could get. An important event that occurred was the lighting of Fiji. The lighting of Fiji involves us lighting the house as well as giving our philanthropy the money we earned for them during the semester. It was an extremely well run event and the president of Jewell even showed up. The semester ended well and our house GPA average was a 3.3.

november 2021

November was full of lots of fun. Following the soccer and football season we were granted some opportunities to “get social” as our social chair, Luke Zahnd. During this month we had our fall formal at a local venue and were catered some great food. Most importantly though we had elections. Electing new officers is a very important aspect of who we are as a house. Through deliberation and voting we established our new Cabinet. A cabinet that is very young, consisting of 4 sophomore and 1 junior. As the semester winds down we are preparing for the next pledge class of the Zeta Phi chapter.

October 2021

Naturally October is known as a month of change. The temperature drops, the leaves change, the air becomes crisp. Jewell was finally able to celebrate homecoming the old fashion way after a unique version last year. The Fiji brothers partnered with Delta Zeta for the greek games. The week was highlighted by a win of the green games. The games consisted of tug a war, food-eating competition, egg toss, and countless others. The Fiji-DZ team was able to bring home the win, but fell short on the week long race for the championship. Fall Break came at a perfect time as many brothers needed a rest and time to get caught up on homework. Most notably this month the section chief, Dave Schrek, came to Liberty. He sat down with Cabinet as well as other chair positions and discussed wide variety of topics. He also shared a meal with us cooked by our wonderful chef Eldon. As the month concludes we look forward to our Halloween Party at the end of the month.

September 2021

Masks were still required for the first few weeks of school, however after increased rates of vaccinations the campus went mask free. This allowed for the formation and planning of many Greek Life events that wouldn’t have been possible during the school last year. Fiji welcomed back Fiji Fridays on September 10th. Many rush events also have began to take place throughout the month. The density of the Sahara, the buzz in the caf, are all depictions of the incredibly large freshman class Jewell has introduced. Due to this the excitement around rush is at an all time high.

August 2021

Following a school year of difficulties and challenges due to the pandemic we were eager to get back to a somewhat normal school year. The 2021 pledge consists of 18 men all bringing something different to the table to help improve and develop the future of the house. The returners hope to lead and guide the house to the best of their abilities.
